Your Enemies Will Save You
People want friends, because friends feel good to have. On the other hand, having enemies feels dreadful. But your enemies are really more valueable to you than any friend ever will be.
Your enemies will find your flaws faster than any friend, and will be quick to reveal them to you. Your friends want you to stay where you’re at, but your enemies want to take your comfort zone by force.
Is Jesus remembered for how many friends he had? Of course not! Jesus became the enemy of the world, and only had a few “friends.” And even his friends struggled to understand, and challenged him. Jesus was betrayed, even by the people closest to him.
Jesus didn’t saved the world by making people like him and treat him well. He saved the world through people doing the most evil of deeds to him. By being truthful, he was so hated that they murdered him, and by them murdering him, that wicked action caused evil to defeat itself.
It is better to have no friends at all and have a million enemies than to be surrounded by people who love you the way you are. Your friends will keep you enslaved, and your enemies, if you understand their secret purpose, will save you.
